A Little Chaos, a Lot of Grandbabies & Protecting My Peace
Well, life lately has been a little bit of everything.
For starters, I've been busy creating this website. And let me tell you, there's a whole lot more to building a website than I ever imagined! But I'm excited about having a little corner of the internet that's mine. A place to share recipes, home ideas, family moments, and whatever else life throws my way.
Meanwhile, I've been getting Brent ready for his hunting trip to Wisconsin with Colby, Brent's cousin Brad, and Brad's son Wyatt. So between website building and getting everything ready for that trip, there's been plenty going on around here.
But the best part of life lately? Those grandbabies.
Harley has apparently decided my pumpkin decorations are part of the menu because she's been taking bites out of them. Not exactly the fall decorating idea I had in mind!
Harley and Hazel are both learning to walk, which is a whole new adventure in itself.
And then there's Bo. Watching his little personality come to life and seeing how his mind works has been one of my favorite things. He recently picked a watermelon that Pappy Joe planted just for him. The only problem? That watermelon weighed more than Bo did!
These are the little moments I wish I could bottle up and keep forever.
Making Room for a Little More Cozy
Something else I've been focusing on lately is my mental health and the space around me.
I'm finding myself wanting a warmer, cozier home. Not necessarily more stuff or a perfectly decorated house. Just a space that feels good to be in.
And that goes for the people and energy around me, too.
I'm making a conscious effort to stay away from drama, negativity, and passive-aggressive nonsense. Life's too short to spend it trying to figure out what somebody really meant by something they said.
I'd rather spend that time with my grandbabies, working on something I enjoy, or making my home feel a little more like the place I want it to be.
Maybe that's part of getting older. Or maybe I'm just getting better at deciding what deserves my time.
Either way, I'm good with it.
Healing, Peace & Figuring It Out Along the Way
I've been learning that healing doesn't always look like some big life-changing moment. Sometimes it's simply choosing not to react, walking away from something that doesn't deserve your energy, or realizing you don't have to explain yourself to everybody.
And peace? I'm learning that you have to make room for it. Sometimes that means changing your surroundings, sometimes it means changing your mindset, and sometimes it means changing who gets access to your time.
I'm still figuring it all out, but I'm enjoying the process of becoming a little more comfortable with the life I'm creating.
So That's Life Lately
Nothing earth-shattering. Just family, a new project, a hunting trip in the works, a few half-eaten pumpkin decorations, and a whole lot of little moments that make me smile.
And right now? That's more than enough.
Anybody else finding themselves choosing peace over explaining themselves these days?
Thanks for pulling up a chair and catching up with me.
